Meet The Poet

 Judith Christian Moon


Mrs. Moon is involved in activities locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.  She is a member of many clubs and agencies, locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.  Her involvement in her local church means that she is not only a Bible teacher but is also on several church wide committees.

Mrs. Moon took the Crisis Intervention Team training in Birmingham, Alabama with the Police and Sheriff’s departments.  She has taken Clinical Pastoral Education training.  Judi works with the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill and is a Family to Family teacher along with the class for professionals.  She teaches Internationals English as a Second Language and also teaches American Adults to read and write.  She teaches a creative writing class weekly to a group of mentally ill adults.


Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Judi has been a resident of Madison County, Alabama  since 1960 and a resident of Alabama for over 70 years.  Mrs. Moon has been widowed twice.  She is the mother to 2 sons, 3 daughters and 3 step-sons…all of whom are married and have given her 28 grandchildren…most of whom are married.  Judi became a great grandmother for the 25th time this year with 2 more “on the way”.

In her spare time Judi loves to read, write poetry, speak to groups about many issues and go on mission trips.  She has been to28 countries and 45 of the USA states.  Her involvement with the Alzheimer’s Association and the mentally ill means that she is on-call 24-7 and that helps her reach her goals…She uses her poetry and life experiences to entertain, inspire and motivate others.  She wishes to be encouraged, inspired and enriched and wishes to encourage, inspire and enrich others.  She chooses to be physically alert and assist physically in sharing a vision with those who have no vision.
